The high visibility that can be achieved with a lanyard for security and identification purposes has been recognised at two recent charity events, both of which benefited from free donations of lanyards from Payne Security.

In March, Payne Security provided its customer M&L Ambulance Service with free lanyards for a charity football match.  The eighty royal blue lanyards which were worn by staff and volunteers to ensure that ID cards were displayed prominently.

The event was held to raise funds for Richard House Children’s Hospice and HEMS London, the charity behind London’s Air Ambulance.  Whilst the focal point was the match between M&L and HEMS, which M&L won 11-0, the day also included a fly-past by London’s Air Ambulance, several vehicle displays and a raffle whose top prize was a flight in the Air Ambulance.  A total of £5000 was raised.

Recognising the benefits its donation had brought, Payne Security kindly assisted the Scout Association in Dundee in April by supplying lanyards for the Association’s 41st annual "Gang Show" at the city’s Whitehall Theatre.  This large-scale musical revue involves over 100 youngsters aged from 8 years upwards, in six performances of a variety show with music, comedy, song, and dance.

To ensure back-stage safety, especially for the younger members of the cast, everyone involved with the show was issued with photo ID cards on the Payne Security lanyards.  The show was a huge success, being attended by over 4,000 people in the course of its run and raising funds for local charities and Scouting in the Dundee area.

“These two applications demonstrate the value and versatility of lanyards for events,” comments Simon Wildash, Head of Marketing, Payne Security.  “Highly visible, the lanyards enable staff, volunteers and performers to be instantly recognised and prevent impostors from gaining access to out-of-bound areas.”
